Selene

Video Game Learning

Selene: A Lunar Construction Game, is a flash based video game in which players learn how Earth's moon was formed as they create their own moon and then pepper it with impact craters and flood it with lava flows.

The project started out with funding from NASA to determine how students could best learn NASA science through videogames, and how learning could be measured through gameplay mechanics. With that project we created the Selene videogame. Bolstered by new funding from the National Science Foundation, we built on that initial research and are taking it to another level. Selene features an immersive environment, optimized gameplay and performance, enhanced graphics with 3-D effects, great sounds, and animations.
